The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accredits J.C. Booth Middle School. The accreditation process is called the school improvement process because it examines how we look ahead and how we plan for change to meet the needs of our current and future students. A copy of our school improvement plan is located in the J. C. Booth Media Center.
The mission of J. C. Booth Middle School is to provide a wide variety of challenging student focused learning opportunities in a safe nurturing environment that embraces the uniqueness of each student.
· Environment. We believe that we must provide a supportive and challenging academic environment. We also believe that recognition and respect of different cultures and learning styles helps promote a safe and comfortable environment.
· Learning Styles. We believe that providing different types of instructional strategies and incorporating a variety of learning activities in the curriculum helps accommodate differences in student learning styles while providing a solid academic background.
· Community. We believe that it is the responsibility of our school to provide numerous opportunities for all who have a stake in the school’s success to meet and support the physical, emotional, and intellectual needs of all students.
· Evaluation. We believe that it is important for students to demonstrate mastery of essential knowledge and problem-solving skills in order to make the best academic and social decisions. We believe the ultimate goal of the learning process is to develop confident, self-directed, responsible, life-long learners who can make choices wisely.
· Commitment to improve. We believe that the commitment to continuous improvement is imperative to enable our students to become educated, lifelong learners.
The faculty, staff, and stakeholders of J.C. Booth Middle School have collaborated to develop a clear, shared vision of the school characteristics that we believe are essential to accomplish its mission.
